Sooners dominate ORU in regional
NORMAN — No. 9 national seed Oklahoma shut out Oral Roberts in its NCAA Norman Regional opener, 14-0, Friday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Sooners (39-19) were dominant on the mound and at the plate with the pitching staff of RHP Kyson Witherspoon and LHP Carter Campbell hurling OU’s sixth shutout of the season with a combined 11 strikeouts to just three ORU (27-31-1) hits.
The OU offense registered 17 hits with seven going for extra bases, including three home runs.
