Senate review 6-13-2024
As we recently adjourned Sine Die, marking the end of the 2024 regular legislative session, I find it essential to take a moment to reflect on our achievements and express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Oklahoma.
This session has been particularly significant as we worked diligently to advance policies and confirm executive nominations that will positively impact our state for years to come.

One of my priorities this session was carrying and successfully navigating several executive nominations through the Senate’s confirmation process. Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a commitment to serving our state.
Jarred Campbell of Idabel has been confirmed to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, to serve a 7-year term ending May 14, 2030. Jarred brings extensive experience in agriculture and conservation, having served as District Manager for the Little River Conservation District and as a 4-H Educator with OSU Cooperative Extension Service. His leadership and dedication to sustainable water management will greatly benefit Oklahoma.
Darrell Brent Bolen of Idabel will serve on the State Board of Agriculture for a 4-year term ending April 26, 2028. Brent is a seasoned farmer and owner/operator of Brent Bolen Farms. His extensive background in agriculture, from managing poultry, swine, and cattle facilities to producing high-quality Bermuda grass hay, positions him as a valuable asset in shaping Oklahoma’s agricultural policies.
Kurt Klutts of Poteau is confirmed to the Oklahoma Mining Commission, to serve a 7-year term ending Jan. 1, 2031. Kurt’s 40 years of experience in the mining and processing industry, coupled with his role as Area Sales Manager at U.S. Lime & Minerals and founder of LTC Resources, Inc., make him an excellent choice for overseeing our state’s mining operations.
Kyle Jordan of Idabel is confirmed to the Board of Trustees for Southeastern Oklahoma State University-McCurtain County Campus, to serve a 3-year term ending June 30, 2027. Kyle’s extensive experience in both education and being a pastor, along with his administrative leadership at Grace Academy, will greatly contribute to the strategic direction and success of the campus.
And lastly, Jerrod Lundry of Haworth has been confirmed to the Board of Trustees for Southeastern Oklahoma State University-McCurtain County Campus, to serve a 9-year term ending June 30, 2033. Jerrod, who recently served as the Campus Director at Hugo/Antlers Kiamichi Technology Centers and currently serves as the Superintendent for Haworth Public Schools, brings a master’s degree in agriculture education from OSU along with a robust background in educational leadership and management, ensuring that the McCurtain County Campus will continue to thrive under his stewardship.
Each of these appointees exemplifies the dedication and expertise needed to drive Oklahoma forward. Their contributions will be instrumental in addressing key issues such as water resources, agricultural development, mining regulations, and educational advancement. I am proud to have helped these amazing Oklahomans through the confirmation process and look forward to seeing the positive impact they have on our great state.
