Heavener JH boys place 2nd

Heavener JH boys place 2nd behind Broken Bow in Heavener’s junior high track meet Friday afternoon.

Heavener’s 4×800 relay team of Jesus Canada, Jerrod Boss, Diego Cruz and Kaylum Kaye were first; The 4×400 relay team of Jesus Canada, Jerrod Boss, Diego Cruz were third; the 4×200 meter relay team of Canada, Boss, Cruz and West were third; and the 4×200 relay team of West, Joey Velazquez, Kaye and Herman Alvarado was sixth.

The high point individual was Boss, who also finished first in the 800. In the mile, Cruz was second and third In the 1,600. Kaye was sixth in the 200; Canada finished fourth in the long jump; Alvarado was first in the 110 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles; West was first in the disc and Omar Cruz placed fifth; Western Reed was second in the 100 hurdles and Brecken Barnes was third in the 100 hurdles.

For the girls, Gracie Springfield was the high point individual. She was first in the long jump, first in the 100 hurdles and second in the 100-meter dash.

The 4×800 relay team of Alisa Arturo, Sophia Garcia, Mia Sanchez and Camilla Aguilar was third. Jenna Scroggins was fifth in the 300 hurdles, sixth in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the long jump.
