Goldia Jo Milligan of Poteau (formerly of Heavener) was born Nov. 21, 1941 in the Reichert community in Heavener to Emmitt and Mae (Metcalf) Milligan and passed away May 1, 2024 in Poteau at 82.
Funeral service is 4 p.m. Saturday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, with Reverend Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Reichert Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Jo was a longtime resident of the area. She was a 1959 graduate of Heavener High School. Jo attended Northeastern State University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a business degree. She was an IT Specialist at Shell Oil Company. Jo was a member of the Faithbridge Church in Heavener. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Jo was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by
Two great nieces Tonya Woodruff and husband William of Poteau, and Dana Gilliam of Poteau.
Two great-great nieces Megan Woodruff and Samantha Gilliam, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
And a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Curtis Plummer; and one niece Janet Tolbert and husband Jerry Tom.
Pallbearers are her family.
Viewing is from noon until 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
